Shobrooke is a small village and civil parish in Mid Devon, Devon, set in rolling agricultural countryside a short drive from the market town of Crediton and within easy reach of Exeter. The landscape is typical of mid-Devon, with hedged fields, lanes and pockets of parkland and wood, giving a strong sense of rural seclusion despite good road links to nearby towns.
Its historic heart includes a medieval parish church and a number of attractive listed farmhouses and cottages, hinting at a long agricultural past. Farming still plays a big part in the local economy, alongside commuters and small rural businesses, and community life tends to revolve around the church, village hall and occasional local events that keep the parish character close-knit.
