Hollym is a small village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, sitting on the low clay plain of Holderness close to the North Sea coast. It lies roughly ten miles east of Kingston upon Hull, with Withernsea and Patrington nearby, and occupies the tidy, low-lying farmland and long field boundaries typical of the area.
The community numbers only a few hundred and remains largely agricultural, although some residents commute to Kingston upon Hull for work; local life centres on the parish church, village hall and a handful of small businesses. Its proximity to Spurn Point and the coastal marshes makes it popular with birdwatchers and walkers, and like much of Holderness the landscape reflects long-term coastal change and a quiet, resilient local identity.
