The Buriton and East Meon area in East Hampshire, Hampshire, England lies on the northern rim of the South Downs and within the South Downs National Park. It occupies chalk downland and the wooded, water-rich Meon Valley along the River Meon, with landmarks such as Butser Hill and disused railway lines-turned-walkways giving the area notable walking, wildlife and landscape interest.
Both villages have a strong historic character - East Meon with a compact medieval core and ancient parish church, and Buriton clustered around its ponds and former railway link. The local economy is largely agricultural with a dose of tourism and commuters travelling to nearby market towns like Petersfield; village life centres on pubs, halls and conservation groups, reflecting a lively rural community with deep local roots.
