Oakhanger is a small village in East Hampshire, in the county of Hampshire, England, lying just to the south‑east of the larger settlement of Bordon and close to Whitehill. It sits within a landscape of low heathland and mixed woodland that marks the transition between the South Downs foothills and the more open commons of the north Hampshire heaths.
The village has long been shaped by nearby military and forestry activity - the remains of the former Longmoor Military Railway and adjacent training ranges are part of the local history - and today residents still look to employment in forestry, defence and the surrounding towns while enjoying access to places like Alice Holt Forest and Woolmer Forest for walking, cycling and wildlife. Socially it’s a small, community‑centred place that benefits from the wider regeneration of the Bordon area and the strong rural character of north Hampshire.
