West Meon is a small village in the Meon Valley, administratively in the district of Winchester in Hampshire, England. It sits in rolling chalk countryside at the heart of the South Downs and alongside the River Meon, making it popular with walkers and riders who use the network of footpaths and the old railway route now forming part of the Meon Valley Way.
The village has clear medieval roots and a compact centre of stone cottages, a village green and several historic houses; agriculture remains visible in the surrounding land while many residents commute to nearby towns. A lively community atmosphere, a village pub and occasional local events give West Meon a strong identity despite its proximity to larger centres such as Winchester and the south coast.
