The village and civil parish of West Meon sits in the upper Meon Valley on the Hampshire Downs, within the district of Winchester in Hampshire. It occupies the headwaters of the River Meon and largely falls inside the South Downs National Park, with a compact conservation area and a number of listed buildings that speak to its medieval and agricultural past.
Today the community combines farming and small local businesses with a commuter population, centred around a village green, pubs, a shop and an active village hall. It’s popular with walkers and cyclists exploring the Downs and valley trails, and retains a quiet, village-centred social life with regular local events and a strong sense of place.
