Bembridge is the large village that sits on the easternmost tip of the Isle of Wight in England, with a small sheltered Bembridge Harbour, a compact high street and easy access to long coastal walks and shingle beaches such as Whitecliff Bay. The village has its own small aerodrome and a strong sailing scene, so the coast and harbour dominate day-to-day life.
Historically a fishing and seafaring community, Bembridge now leans on tourism, boating and an often older, relatively affluent local population; notable features include the preserved Bembridge Windmill, an RNLI lifeboat presence and the hazardous reef known as Bembridge Ledge, whose shipwreck history contributes to the village’s maritime character.
