Newtown Linford is a small conservation village on the edge of Bradgate Park in the heart of Charnwood Forest, Leicestershire, England. The village sits beside the River Lin and is dominated by access to the park’s rolling heath, ancient woodland and the iconic Old John folly, so it’s popular with walkers and families despite its quiet, rural feel.
Historically the settlement grew around the estate that managed Bradgate Park and the area is closely linked to the Grey family - the ruined Bradgate House nearby is famously the birthplace of Lady Jane Grey. Today the local economy is mainly residential and tourism-led, with a handful of shops, a pub and an active community that looks after its conservation area, while many residents commute to Leicester for work.
