Goxhill in North Lincolnshire, England is a compact village set close to the south bank of the Humber Estuary. Its long history is evident in a traditional parish church and older stone and brick buildings, and the village is well known for the nearby wartime airfield, RAF Goxhill, which played an important role for USAAF units in the Second World War and still attracts interest from historians and veterans.
Today Goxhill retains a rural, agricultural character while also serving as a local centre and commuter base for people working at nearby ports and industrial areas such as Immingham and other parts of the Humber. The community supports a handful of pubs, shops, a primary school and active village groups, giving it a strong local identity despite its proximity to larger towns.
