Finedon is a small market town in North Northamptonshire, about four miles north‑east of Wellingborough, set in the rolling farmland of the Ise valley. Its setting is typical of Northamptonshire, with patchwork fields and hedgerows and ready access to nearby market towns such as Northampton and Kettering.
Historically the town expanded in the 19th century around ironstone quarrying and the rail links that served the industry, leaving a visible industrial heritage alongside older village features. Today Finedon blends local shops, schools and sports clubs with a strong community spirit, some conservation areas and countryside within easy reach, and functions partly as a commuter base for larger centres.
