Cottesmore is a village and civil parish in the county of Rutland in England, lying close to the county boundary with Leicestershire and within easy reach of the market town of Oakham. It remains a largely rural community with farming at its heart, alongside commuters to nearby towns and a noticeable military presence; the long-established Cottesmore Hunt is one of the area's traditional cultural associations.
The village’s character has been shaped by the nearby former RAF Cottesmore, later converted to Kendrew Barracks, which brought employment and different waves of residents. Architecturally there are stone cottages and a medieval parish church, while community life centres on the village hall, pub and seasonal events that sustain a strong local spirit.
