Combe St. Nicholas is a compact village and civil parish in rural Somerset, a few miles from the market town of Chard. Set in a gently undulating combe of typical West Country countryside, it retains a medieval parish church dedicated to St Nicholas and a number of historic stone cottages and farm buildings that speak to a long agricultural past.
Today the village combines farming with small local businesses and a commuter population who travel to nearby centres such as Taunton and Yeovil. Community life is centred on the church and village facilities, with occasional village events, footpaths for walkers and the quiet, close-knit social feel common to many Somerset parishes on the edge of the Blackdown Hills.
