Donyatt is a small village and civil parish in the South Somerset district of Somerset, England, lying a few miles south of Ilminster on the edge of the rolling countryside that leads down towards the Somerset Levels. The settlement has medieval roots and a compact village core of stone and thatch buildings clustered around the parish church and lanes.
Historically the parish was shaped by agriculture and local clay-working: pottery and brick- and tile-making have left their mark on the landscape and local vernacular. Today it is a quiet, close-knit community where village facilities and occasional local events remain important, while many residents mix farming, small businesses and commuting to nearby market towns; the area is also popular with walkers exploring the surrounding countryside.
