Curry Mallet is a small rural village in Somerset, not far from Taunton, sitting on the fringe of the low-lying Somerset Levels and surrounded by rolling farmland. Its lanes, hedgerows and a compact cluster of historic buildings give it the feel of a traditional West Country settlement, popular with local farmers and people who commute to nearby market towns.
The village has a strong sense of history - the manor was long associated with the Norman Malet family and earthworks from medieval fortifications can still be seen - and a medieval parish church anchors village life. Socially it remains a small, close-knit community with village events and a largely agricultural economy supplemented by tourism and rural services.
