North Petherton is a small town and civil parish in Somerset, England, sited on the edge of the low-lying Somerset Levels beside the River Parrett. It sits between Bridgwater and Taunton and is close to the M5, with easy access to the coast around Bridgwater Bay and the rolling hills of the Quantock Hills.
Historically a market town with medieval roots and a notable parish church, North Petherton now combines local shops and light industry with a largely commuter population; there’s an active community life with clubs, societies and annual events that reflect its strong village-town identity. The surrounding landscape of levels and hedgerows also makes it popular with walkers and birdwatchers.
