South Petherton is a large village and civil parish in Somerset, England, set amid rolling countryside between Yeovil and Crewkerne. Its compact historic core includes the medieval parish church of St Peter and St Paul and a number of listed hamstone and thatched buildings, many built from stone quarried on nearby Ham Hill, giving the centre a distinct local character born of centuries of rural life and small-scale industry.
Today the village retains a lively community feel with local shops, a primary school, clubs and regular events, while the wider parish remains largely agricultural. Many residents commute to larger towns for work, but the area also attracts walkers and visitors interested in traditional Somerset architecture, quiet lanes and the surrounding countryside.
