Brantham is a riverside village and civil parish in the district of Babergh, in the county of Suffolk, England. It sits beside the River Stour close to the Suffolk–Essex border, with the small town of Manningtree and its rail links not far away; the surrounding landscape forms part of the gentle Stour valley that flows into the nearby Dedham Vale, giving the area a mix of farmland, estuarine views and attractive countryside.
Historically the village grew from agriculture and riverside industry and still shows that mixed character today: there are small local businesses and a strong commuter element serving Ipswich and Colchester, while community life remains lively with village clubs, a school, pubs and regular events that reflect its long-standing social ties. Many residents value the balance of historic buildings, working countryside and easy access to the coast and larger towns.
