Stanford Dingley is a small village and civil parish in West Berkshire, tucked into the wooded valley of the River Pang a few miles west of Reading and east of Newbury. It feels quintessentially rural, with narrow lanes, thatched and honey‑coloured cottages, a village green and surrounding farmland and paddocks that attract walkers and riders.
Despite its modest size the village has a long history visible in its medieval church and several listed buildings, and is largely a conservation area. The local economy remains a mix of agriculture and small local businesses, while many residents commute to nearby towns; social life is focused on community events, the church and the occasional village fête or pub gathering.
