Stanford Dingley

Stanford Dingley is a small, picturesque village in West Berkshire, tucked into the shallow valley of the River Pang and surrounded by chalk downland, farmland and pockets of ancient woodland. Narrow lanes, thatched cottages and stone buildings give it a very rural character and it is popular with walkers exploring the Kennet and Pang countryside; the larger centres of Pangbourne and Reading are the nearest towns for shops and rail links.

Historically the settlement grew up around a river crossing and has a number of older houses and a village church that reflect medieval and later rural life. Today it remains primarily agricultural and residential, with a small, close‑knit community that supports local events and the occasional pub or village gathering, while many residents commute to nearby towns for work.
