Tisbury is a large village and civil parish in Wiltshire, England, set in the Nadder Valley on the banks of the River Nadder and lying within the Cranborne Chase and West Wiltshire Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It has a railway station on the line linking Salisbury with Exeter and onward to London, which makes it handy for commuters and visitors while keeping a distinctly rural feel.
Historically the settlement grew up around agriculture, milling and local quarrying, and the village still shows that heritage in its limestone buildings, parish church and compact high street of independent shops and pubs. The area is rich in archaeology and historic sites - for example Old Wardour Castle and numerous prehistoric barrows lie close by - and a lively community scene of clubs and events keeps Tisbury busy today.
