Teffont is a small civil parish in south Wiltshire, set in the Nadder valley at the southern edge of Salisbury Plain. It comprises the two close-knit villages of Teffont Magna and Teffont Evias, surrounded by typical chalk downland, hedgerows and a clear chalk stream that feeds into the River Nadder, with several prehistoric barrows and pockets of ancient woodland in the neighbourhood.
The parish retains a strong village feel centred on historic medieval churches, listed cottages and a village hall; agriculture remains important locally alongside people who commute into Salisbury. The area is popular with walkers and those interested in local history and archaeology, and is valued for its quiet rural character and proximity to the wide open spaces and historic sites of the Plain.
