Arborfield is a village in the borough of Wokingham, Berkshire, set in gently rolling countryside a few miles east of Reading. The settlement sits near the cluster at Arborfield Cross and combines traditional farmland and woodland with more recent residential development centred on the former Arborfield Garrison, giving the area a mix of rural character and suburban convenience.
Historically agricultural, Arborfield has also been shaped by a long military presence and the recent conversion of barrack land into new housing (often called Arborfield Green), which has brought more commuters and young families. The village still maintains a parish church, village hall and local pub atmosphere, and most local employment patterns reflect a commuter economy into nearby towns plus small-scale local businesses and services.
