Swallowfield is a small village and civil parish in the borough of Wokingham, set in the rolling countryside of Berkshire and a short drive from Reading with Basingstoke also within easy reach. The area is characterised by parkland, woodland and farmland clustered around the long-established Swallowfield Park estate, giving it a distinctly rural and historic feel despite good transport links.
The village retains a strong community character with local amenities such as a village hall and pub and a largely residential population, many of whom commute to nearby towns for work; listed buildings, estate gardens and conservation areas reflect its gentry past while local events and volunteers keep a traditional village atmosphere alive.
