Inchlonaig is a small, largely uninhabited island set in Loch Lomond within the council area of Argyll and Bute. Tucked among the loch’s wooded shores, it’s valued for its tranquillity, rugged shoreline and the simple, windswept mix of grass and birch that characterises many of the loch’s isles.
Historically used for seasonal grazing and occasional shelter, the island today draws kayakers, anglers and birdwatchers and forms part of the wider landscape of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. There are a few modest ruins on the shoreline and visitors are asked to respect the fragile habitats and nesting birds when landing.
