Kilcreggan in Argyll and Bute, Scotland sits on the tip of the Rosneath Peninsula overlooking the north shore of the Firth of Clyde. It developed as a Victorian and Edwardian seaside retreat for Glasgow merchants and still shows that heritage in its handsome villas, promenade and pier, with strong maritime character and wide views across the water towards Glasgow and the hills of Argyll.
Today Kilcreggan is a compact community of residents, commuters and holiday homeowners; a regular ferry link to Gourock provides access to the rail network into Glasgow. Local life is centred on boating, walking and small-scale tourism, and there is a steady interest in conserving the village’s historic buildings and shoreline as part of its social and economic identity.
