Tighnabruaich is a small coastal village on the eastern shore of the Kyles of Bute, set on the western edge of the Cowal peninsula in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It looks out across narrow tidal channels and pine‑clad hills, with a long seafront and a characterful main street; the dramatic coastal scenery makes it a popular base for sailing, kayaking and walking.
Historically it grew as a Victorian and Edwardian resort served by Clyde steamers from Glasgow, and that maritime heritage still shapes village life: yachting, small harbours and annual regattas are important, alongside tourism, local hospitality and a modest fishing and service economy. The community retains a relaxed, close‑knit feel with galleries, cafés and strong links to the surrounding countryside and seascape.
