Largs is a compact seaside town on the Firth of Clyde in North Ayrshire, Scotland, known for its long Victorian promenade, boating and a lively seafront. Its history is coloured by the 1263 clash with Norse forces - the Battle of Largs - which is still commemorated locally and has inspired the popular annual Viking Festival; the town also acts as the mainland gateway for ferries to the Isle of Cumbrae and Millport.

Today Largs mixes tourism and local trade with a fair number of commuters who travel to Glasgow, helped by good rail and road links; you’ll find a marina, golf courses, independent shops and the famous Nardini’s ice cream parlour, all of which give the place a relaxed, community-focused atmosphere that draws day-trippers and retirees alike.
