Pyle is a small village and community in the county borough of Bridgend in Wales, sitting on the south coast between Bridgend and Port Talbot. It lies close to the M4 and the extensive sand dune system of Kenfig, including the Kenfig National Nature Reserve and Kenfig Pool, which give the area an unusual coastal-wildlife character for its industrial hinterland.
The settlement has historic links with the shifting sands and the lost medieval borough of Kenfig, and later developed alongside South Wales industries such as mining and steel, so today it combines commuter and light-industrial economies with local shops, a strong community life and clubs like the local rugby club. The proximity to the reserve makes it popular with walkers and birdwatchers, giving Pyle a mix of suburban, industrial and rural social character.
