Llandybie sits on the eastern edge of Carmarthenshire in south‑west Wales, just outside the small town of Ammanford. The parish combines low rolling farmland and wooded river valleys with remnants of the 19th‑ and 20th‑century coal and rural industries that once shaped the Amman valley, giving a patchwork of agricultural land, former industrial sites and small villages.
Historically centred on its medieval church, the community expanded during mining and textile booms but today mixes farming, local services and commuter households with good road links toward Swansea. Social life tends to revolve around village halls, chapels and sports clubs, while visitors often use the area as a quieter base for exploring the Tywi valley and nearby historic towns such as Llandeilo.
