Caerhun is a largely rural ward in the county of Conwy, sitting along the western bank of the River Conwy and sweeping up into the foothills of Snowdonia. The landscape is a mix of pasture, woodland and steep upland slopes, giving plenty of opportunities for walking, birdwatching and scenic drives while remaining within easy reach of the North Wales coast and larger towns.
Its history is visible in sites such as the ruins of the Roman fort Canovium and the medieval St Mary's Church, and the local economy leans on farming, small-scale tourism and people who commute to nearby centres for work. Community life tends to be quiet and close-knit, with local events, conservation interests and a steady flow of visitors attracted by the landscape and historic features.
