Llanddulas and Rhyd-y-Foel sit on the north coast of Wales in the county borough of Conwy, tucked between Colwyn Bay and Abergele. The parish occupies a strip of coastline and lower slopes with views across the Irish Sea towards Snowdonia on clear days; Llanddulas Bay is noted for its limestone cliffs, shingle and sandy stretches and the mouth of the local river.
Historically the area was shaped by limestone quarrying and agriculture, and you can still see traces of quarry works and kilns in the landscape. The nearby Gwrych Castle provides a striking historic landmark and draws visitors, while village life today mixes tourism, outdoor pursuits such as coastal walking and birdwatching, and commuting to larger towns via the A55. Community hubs tend to be the village halls and pubs, keeping a small rural-coastal character.
