Llansannan is a small rural community in Conwy, in north Wales, set among rolling farmland and hedged lanes rather than urban sprawl. The village takes its name from Saint Sannan and retains a quiet, historic feel centred on a parish church and scattered hamlets; the surrounding countryside offers typical Welsh vistas of fields, small woodlands and country lanes.
Locally the area is characterised by farming and a close-knit, largely Welsh-speaking community with chapel and village activities still playing an important social role. While agriculture remains central to the local economy, many residents commute to nearby towns for work, and the place retains a strong sense of local history and cultural life through events, local buildings and community organisations.
