Bronllys and Felin-fach lie in Powys, mid-Wales, on the fringes of the Brecon Beacons, characterised by rolling farmland, hedgerow-lined lanes and small clusters of stone cottages. Felin-fach literally means "little mill", reflecting the area's agricultural roots, while the villages retain a quiet, community‑oriented feel with village halls, churches and local events that bind residents together.
The area has a strong historic note thanks to Bronllys Castle, a Norman motte-and-bailey ruin by the River Llynfi that draws local curiosity, and its economy remains largely rural - farming, small businesses and a modest slice of tourism from walkers and history enthusiasts who also visit nearby Brecon. The mix of scenic landscape, heritage sites and everyday village life gives the communities a distinctly Welsh rural character.
