Honddu Isaf is a small rural parish in eastern Powys, Wales, strung out along the valley of the River Honddu at the western foothills of the Brecon Beacons. The landscape is typical upland Wales - rolling pasture, drystone walls and scattered farmsteads - and it's popular with walkers who use quiet lanes and bridleways to reach the surrounding hills.
Historically part of Brecknockshire, the community retains a strong agricultural character, centred on sheep and beef farming, with a number of residents commuting to nearby towns such as Crickhowell and Brecon. Social life often revolves around local chapels, village halls and seasonal events, giving it a close-knit feel while also attracting people seeking a rural lifestyle within easy reach of the national park.
