Map of the UK

Cornerswell is a suburban ward in the northern part of Penarth, within the Vale of Glamorgan. Sitting on the slopes above Cardiff Bay, it is largely residential with a mix of Victorian terraces and mid‑20th‑century estates, small parades of shops and pockets of green space that give it a village‑like feel while remaining close to the waterfront and town centre.

Locally it has a community‑minded character - family households, commuters into Cardiff, active town and county councillors and several schools and voluntary groups. Historically it developed as part of Penarth’s expansion in the Victorian and interwar periods, and today the ward’s proximity to the seafront and Penarth Pier makes it convenient for leisure while still being quietly residential.
