Rhoose is a village on the south coast of the Vale of Glamorgan in Wales, overlooking the Bristol Channel and a short drive from Barry and Cardiff. It is best known for hosting Cardiff Airport (originally the wartime airfield RAF Rhoose) and the nearby Rhoose Cardiff International Airport railway station, while the coastal fringe around Rhoose Point links into the Wales Coast Path and local seaside walks.
Once a small farming and fishing community, Rhoose expanded with 20th‑century housing and the growth of the airport, so its economy now blends aviation, tourism and local services. The village has a mix of long‑standing residents and commuters, plus holiday accommodation and coastal attractions, giving it a quiet, working coastal‑village character with easy links into the surrounding towns and the capital.
