Brymbo is a community on the outskirts of Wrexham in north-east Wales, sitting amid the rolling, coal- and iron-strewn hills that helped shape the region. The ward mixes residential streets and local shops with remnants of its industrial past, so the landscape is punctuated by old works, spoil tips and patches of regenerating woodland.
Historically driven by iron, coal and later steel-making - notably the former Brymbo Steelworks - the area retains a strong sense of industrial heritage visible in walking routes and local story-telling, even as parts of the ward have seen housing and community-led regeneration. It’s a place where close links to Wrexham town centre meet a distinctive post-industrial character and emerging green spaces.
