Batheaston is a compact village and civil parish on the eastern edge of Bath, within the unitary authority of Bath and North East Somerset in England. It sits on the north bank of the River Avon around two miles from Bath city centre, with the Kennet and Avon Canal and riverside paths nearby, and affords pleasant views across the Avon valley towards the city and the surrounding Cotswolds hills.
The village has medieval and Georgian layers visible in its stone houses and conservation areas, and retains a small high street of independent shops, pubs and a village hall that help sustain a lively local community. Proximity to Bath and Bristol means many residents commute, but there is also a quiet, slightly rural character and occasional community events that underline Batheaston’s long-standing local identity.
