Timsbury is a ward in Bath and North East Somerset set in the countryside on the northern edge of the Mendip Hills, close to Radstock and a short drive from Bath. The village grew substantially during the 19th century with the Somerset coalfield and you can still spot traces of its industrial past in former pit sites and old railway alignments that have been repurposed as footpaths and green corridors.
Today Timsbury combines a rural feel with a largely commuter population: there are local shops, a pub, a village hall and primary school, and an active programme of community events and sports clubs. The surrounding farmland, orchards and lanes make it popular with walkers, while the local economy is dominated by small businesses and residents who travel to work in Bath and Bristol.
