Aldbrough is a small village on the low-lying Holderness plain in the East Riding of Yorkshire, set close to the North Sea coast and a short drive north of Hornsea and east of Hull. The surrounding landscape is largely agricultural with expansive skies and the area is notable for the rapid coastal erosion that affects much of the Holderness coastline.
Historically rooted in rural and maritime life, Aldbrough retains a strong village identity with local amenities such as a pub, village hall and community groups; many residents commute to nearby towns while others make a living from farming or small local enterprises. The proximity to beaches and wildlife draws occasional visitors, but it remains a quiet, closely knit community shaped by the rhythms of East Yorkshire rural life and coastal change.
