Fleet is a town and civil parish in the district of Hart, Hampshire, England, set around the large freshwater Fleet Pond and the surrounding heathland. The pond is a Local Nature Reserve and a focal point for walks and wildlife, and the settlement expanded notably with the arrival of the railway in the 19th century, giving the place a mix of Victorian and more modern suburban character.
Today Fleet is a popular commuter base with regular trains to London and easy road access to nearby centres such as Farnborough and Basingstoke, while still offering local amenities including shops, leisure facilities and community venues like The Harlington. Strong community groups, good schools and the green open spaces around the pond make it a sought-after, family-oriented area with both historic roots and a contemporary, service-led local economy.
