Rothley is a historic village and civil parish in Charnwood, Leicestershire, England, set a short distance north of Leicester amid rolling Leicestershire countryside. The settlement grew along the course of the Rothley Brook and still has a compact centre of stone cottages, a medieval All Saints Church and a well‑defined conservation area that reflects its long history.
Its heritage includes the site of a medieval preceptory and the later country house known as Rothley Temple, and the village is served by a station on the preserved Great Central Railway, which brings steam excursions through the area. Today Rothley is largely residential and popular with commuters, but it retains local shops, pubs and regular community events and sits surrounded by farmland and pleasant walking routes.
