Grafton Underwood is a small village and civil parish in North Northamptonshire, set in gently undulating countryside a short drive from Kettering and historically within the bounds of Rockingham Forest. The compact village of stone and brick houses sits beside a medieval parish church and pockets of veteran hedgerows and parkland, reflecting its long agricultural character.
The locality is perhaps best known for the nearby wartime aerodrome, RAF Grafton Underwood, which hosted American heavy bombers in the Second World War and still leaves visible traces in field patterns and lanes. Today the economy is largely agricultural with a number of commuters to neighbouring towns, while village life remains focused on local events and conservation of its rural heritage.
