Austwick is a small village and civil parish in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England, lying within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Perched on limestone country above the upper Lune valley, it has the classic drystone walls and stone-built houses of the Dales and provides easy access to walking routes towards the Ingleborough massif and the Three Peaks.
Historically centred on hill farming, the local economy still relies on agriculture but has diversified into hospitality and outdoor tourism, with a village pub, small shops and holiday lets popular with walkers. The community is small and close-knit, with a parish church and village hall, and the surrounding landscape contains traditional field patterns and archaeological traces that hint at a long rural past.
