Ingleton is a handsome village in North Yorkshire, England, sitting on the western edge of the Yorkshire Dales. It’s best known for dramatic limestone scenery and the popular Ingleton Waterfalls Trail that follows the River Doe and the River Twiss, with striking views of Ingleborough, one of the hills in the local Three Peaks area.
Historically a market and railway village that expanded in the Victorian era, Ingleton now has a lively community life with pubs, B&Bs and outdoor shops; the local economy leans on tourism, hillwalking, caving and farming. Its limestone geology, old mills and rail heritage make it a pleasant base for exploring the Dales and learning about the area’s industrial and rural past.
