Stainforth is a small rural parish in North Yorkshire tucked into the Ribblesdale arm of the Yorkshire Dales, set beside the River Ribble. It is best known for the attractive waterfall at Stainforth Force and an old stone packhorse bridge, with the surrounding limestone scenery, dry-stone walls and pastures giving the place a classic Dales character.
Historically a farming community with medieval roots and links to upland grazing and local quarrying, the parish now balances agriculture with modest visitor activity - walkers, photographers and those exploring the Dales are regulars. Socially it remains a small, close-knit settlement where village life and outdoor recreation shape the local economy and identity.
