Chilton Polden is a small rural parish in Somerset, set on the northern edge of the Polden Hills and looking out over the low-lying wetlands of the Somerset Levels. The location gives it wide open views, quiet lanes and footpaths, and an interest for birdwatchers and walkers drawn to the mix of hilltop pasture and peatland wildlife.
Historically the community is centred on a traditional parish church and a scattering of farmsteads and cottages, and agriculture remains important to the local economy alongside a number of residents who commute to nearby towns such as Bridgwater and Glastonbury. The village retains a strong rural character with local events and conservation-minded activity reflecting its long-standing landscape and heritage.
