Bawdrip is a small village and civil parish in the Sedgemoor district of Somerset, England, lying on the eastern edge of the Somerset Levels a few miles from Bridgwater. The surrounding landscape is low-lying peat and clay crossed by drainage rhynes, which gives the area its distinctive flat, open character; nearby Hinkley Point has also become a notable local economic presence in recent decades.
Historically agricultural with medieval roots, the village retains a parish church (St Mary) and several traditional buildings, and the community still centres on local groups, the village hall and occasional events. Today it combines rural life with commuter links to larger towns, offering a quiet, close-knit feel while reflecting broader changes in the Levels over time.
