Dunball is a small hamlet just north of Bridgwater in Somerset, England, sitting on the north bank of the River Parrett. Though tiny as a settlement, it has an industrial character thanks to the riverside wharf and associated estate that have served local trade and storage; historically it functioned as a local landing and transhipment point linked to a rail siding and to the nearby Bridgwater and Taunton Canal.
The surrounding landscape is typical of the Somerset Levels and the coastal flats of Bridgwater Bay, with important tidal mudflats and saltmarshes that attract birdwatchers and make flood defences and sluices part of the local story. The hamlet’s proximity to major roads and motorways gives it a quiet but connected role in the local economy, bridging rural landscape, nature conservation and light industry.
