Bridgwater Without is a largely rural civil parish on the outskirts of Bridgwater in the Sedgemoor district of Somerset, England. Sitting on the fringes of the Somerset Levels and close to the River Parrett, the area is characterised by farmland, drainage channels and patches of wetland that support notable birdlife and occasional winter flooding.
Historically the parish has been shaped by its links to Bridgwater’s port and local rural industries such as peat cutting and brickmaking, while today it mixes traditional farming communities with commuter housing and small hamlets; nearby projects such as Hinkley Point and good road links have also influenced the local economy and development. Community life tends to centre on village halls, churches and local pubs, giving it a quietly social, village-like character despite its proximity to larger towns.
